Molecules bond through the sharing or exchange of electrons between the atoms in the molecule. The type of bonding that occurs between atoms in a molecule depends on the difference in electronegativity between the atoms and the number of electrons in the valence shells of the atoms. The formation of chemical bonds between atoms results in the creation of a molecule, which has its own unique physical and chemical properties, including reactivity, stability, and boiling point.
